Buddha’s 4 Noble Truths

Sunday, February 8, 2009

Life involves suffering and is inevitably sorrowful.

Suffering has its roots in desire and craving, which arise from ignorance.

The end of suffering comes with the cessation of desire.

Nirvana can be reached by the Noble Eightfold Path.

Ain't that the gospel truth ;-)

Buddha also said, 'To get rid of your desires is not nirvana - but to look upon them as no matter of yours, that is nirvana.'

Well, by gospel, diver, I actually meant PURE/, REAL, CLEAR Truth. To me that's not about GOSPEL as a doctrine of Christianity.

I may have some mistakes or wrong expressions, sayings because English is not my native language. If in my language something may be called in a way when I translate it in English it may sound a little bit different, even weird or wrong. So, I just will take into consideration and check once again this expression and the adjective "gospel". Maybe I am really wrong.

But yes, Buddha has nothing in common with Christianity and Gospel. :)

Thank you, my friend. Feel free to correct me if it is necessary.

Hi XOXO, I love the way you use English - your expression is clear all the time, and often, more clear and more interesting than those who use English as their one and only language. Don't stress it XOXO, your English is simply wonderful!

BTW, I understood what you mean when you use the word 'Gospel' - lots of people use that word as a pointer to 'commonly accepted truth' and give no Christian connotation to it at all.

Hi, Miriam. Nice to meet you in here. I am extremely happy when find a new blogger reading my posts.

Perhaps you are a visual person. That's why you are more attracted by pictures, images and visual effects rather than words. That's great!
