Guess the Name...

It's famous for:

Transylvania
with its Bran Castle, Dracula, vampires...

Nicolae Ceausescu
with his Palace of the Parliament (the largest building in Europe and the world's second largest administrative building behind the Pentagon; 10% larger by volume than the Great Pyramid of Giza)...

Nadia Elena Comăneci
(November 12, 1961) - famous gymnast, winner of 5
Olympic gold medals...

Gheorghe Hagi
– “The Maradona of the Carpathians”, a hero in his homeland as well as in Turkey...

Gypsies who use to beg, steal and deceive ...

O-zone, ladies and gentlemen! In fact, a Moldavian pop music trio (but this country claims it 's theirs) that gained notoriety for their song "Dragostea Din Tei". One of its ex-members is Dan Balan (Crazy Loop).
NB. Rihanna sampled the song in her new hit "Live Your Life".

The bearer of death on the highway” - Dacia – the best affair (cheap and easy to maintain)...

Monasteries
...

Beautiful women...

Any ideas?!

How about their traditional costumes?

Is getting hotter and hotter in here...
What about this
flag?

And now?

One more suggestion. Today, the 1st of December is its 90th National Birthday! Ergo, all you who have friends in this country, don't forget to congratulate them!

La multi ani, Romania!

I won't call the gypsy's such names, maybe because I hate to generalize certain culture or ethnic group.

Ah, and first of december is also the national day for the United Arab Emirates

Nice selection, I like it

Mix, Romanians... They claim that with their own mouths. They themselves do not respect their Roms.

According to them and reliable sources related to Romanian Gypsies abroad, this minority brings troubles and reprsents a blot of Romania's reputation.

I don't want to offend someone.

Thanks for the information, XOXO, and I am sure that your intentions is not to offend anyone. I just can't accept the concept of making judgment that way, it is just my opinion :)

It's an exotic part of the world alright, with a rich ancient history (e.g Dacians and Sarmatians). I have a bit of an interest in the Renaissance history of Wallachia, Moldavia, and Transylvania for some mysterious reason. Perhaps I was there in a past life?

Why does Ukraine claim that strip of Moldovan land down by the Black Sea (southwest of Odessa)?

Nice post xoxo. I like hearing about your part of the world.

These lands are really beautiful, exotic, especially in foreigners' eyes...

I am impressed with your knowledge in the history of other countries.
You are right, Romanians and Moldovans come from Dacians. The Sarmatians are more related to Russia and Ukraine.

Regarding the Transnistrian Region a.k.a Pridnestrovia - that's a teritorry that belongs to Moldova. From territorial point of view it is a legal part of Moldova.
Due to the collapse of USSR in 1991, Gorbaceov's "perestroika" and spontaneous chaos, national minorities who were living in Moldova (russians) were not willing to learn and accept the official language (Romanian) of the majority of population and the latin alphabet. Thus, in 1991 the territory of Transnistria (where Ucranians and Russian were the majority) has declared independence from Moldova. Ergo, Transnistria has become an independent state with its own president, currency, constitution, laws, parliament, government, etc.

Nowadays, the relationship between these countries is still very tense and strained. The geopolitical conflict still exists.
